Guinness 9-Ball Tour GraphicBilliards update on the Singapore leg of the 2008 Guinness 9-Ball Tour!

Filipino pool player Dennis Orcollo dethroned defending Grand Finals champion Chang Jung-Lin of Chinese Taipei, with a 9-7 score in the Singapore leg of the Guinness 9 Ball Tour 2008!

According to Dennis Orcollo, aka Robocop, "I wasn't nervous at all. It was unfortunate that Chang had a lot of dry breaks, but that is how the game goes. They kind of placed the racks a bit higher so I adjusted my breaks. This is a big win for me!"

Up next for Dennis Orcollo is China’s Fu Jian Bo. Fu topped his group B following wins over Ryu Sheung Woo of Korea and Naoyuki Oi of Japan. Orcollo and Fu will meet will meet at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow.

The Philippines is well represented in the final eight as Dennis Orcollo is joined by three other Filipino pool players, i.e., Antonio Gabica, Joven Bustamante, and Alex Pagulayan.

Up for grabs in the Singapore leg is a total prize purse of $50,000, as well as points to qualify for the Tour's Grand Final in Jakarta, which will feature the Top Ten players in the overall Order of Merit. The winners of each leg will get to earn $15,000 while the Grand Final Champion will bring home a cool $36,000! But wait, there’s more! The Tour's Top 10 players will also automatically qualify for billiards’ most prestigious event, the 2008 WPA World Pool Championships!

The Guinness 9-Ball Tour remains the only ranking tour in Asia for players to qualify for the WPA World Pool Championship. And I kid you not!
