Batanes! Jeffrey Elliott's Trip to Batanes in Pictures!

In the first quarter of 2010, my good friend, Jeffrey Elliott, aka Anting-anting Jeff, had the good chance to visit Batanes, the northernmost province of the Pool Capital of the World!

Jeff made the trip to Batanes with Celine and our good friend, internationally-renowned painter Rafael "Popoy" Cusi.
I was supposed to be with him but work kept me from doing so. :(

According to Jeff, 'twas an adventure of a lifetime! And I believe him!

Without further ado, here is the YouTube video of some of Jeff's pictures. Yes, I got to pick out my favorites!
And yes! The pictures do serve as a true testament to the beauty of my people and my country! And I kid you not!

Many thanks for sharing 'em brother!

Efren Reyes & Django Bustamante Will Defend World Cup of Pool Title in Manila, Philippines!

World Cup of Pool GraphicBilliards buddies and pool players, guess what! Efren Bata Reyes, aka The Magician, and Francisco Django Bustamante will defend their World Cup of Pool title when the exciting event returns to the Pool Capital of the World in September 2010!

Mark your calendars, friends! The World Cup of Pool will be staged from Tuesday to Sunday , September 7-12, 2010. It will feature a total of 32 two-player teams shooting for the $250,000 prize fund! WOOOO!

For those not in the know, Bata Reyes and Django Bustamante, both members of the Filipino Invasion, have won the prestigious trophy on two of the four occasions it has been held! Truth be told, their unforgettable win in 2009 in Manila, Philippines, was one of the most exciting finals ever seen in the history of the tour – the Philippines’ awesome duo beating Germany’s best at 11-9!

And because the Philippines is hosting the event, we have been given the honor of fielding two teams! Complimenting the Philippine A Team (Reyes and Bustamante) is none other than everyone’s favorites Dennis Orcollo, aka Robocop, and Roberto Gomez, aka Superman! Awesome!

Some of the top pool players scheduled to play in the 2010 World Cup of Pool include World Champions Ralf Souquet and Oliver Ortmann (Germany), Daryl Peach and Karl Boyes (United Kingdom), Johnny Archer (USA), Mika Immonen aka The Iceman (Finland), Marcus Chamat (Sweden), Niels Feijen (Netherlands), and Tony Drago (Malta).

The 2010 World Cup of Pool event will be broadcast by Solar Sports live across the Philippines - with the live feed of the tournament available internationally! Moreover, Matchroom Sport is scheduled to produce a 31 x one hour highlights package of the competition!

I am just absolutely delighted! And I kid you not!

Friends, this is exclusively for QC executives only! However, I have just received word that the organizer will allow “guest participants” from other cities to raise more funds! The organizer will allow guest participants provided they pay an additional Php500 entry fee. Now, isn’t that neat?

And lest I forget, I have been told that proceeds of the competition will benefit kids from Quezon City, with emphasis on its feeding program and other humanitarian services. Now, this makes it one tournament that we surely don’t want to miss y’all! And I kid you not!

*You can also get copies of the entry form here! Just send an e-mail requesting for such to anitokid@gmail.com.
