Oscar dela Hoya vs. Manny Pacquiao: Update!

Oscar dela Hoya GraphicOscar dela Hoya vs. Manny Pacquiao update:

Lightweight champion of the world Manny Pacquiao believes Freddie Roach when the trainer said Oscar dela Hoya aka Golden Boy is beatable. As everyone knows, the Filipino boxer, who won his fourth world title belt in June 2008 against David Diaz, is being considered to face Oscar dela Hoya in his farewell fight in late 2008.

“I believe Freddie when he said I can beat De La Hoya. Freddie once trained De La Hoya so he knows the strengths and weaknesses of De La Hoya,” said the 29-year-old pugilist from General Santos. He also added that he felt honored being considered to face a champion like dela Hoya.

Incidentally, Oscar Dela Hoya is planning to fly to Cebu for the August 30, 2008 fight card featuring Rey Bautista going up against Mexican Eden Marquez for the World Boxing Organization Intercontinental bantamweight crown. The main event of that fight will have WBO titleholder Donnie Nietes, aka Ahas, against Eddy Castro for his first world title defense.
