Cris Aquino will distribute cardboard masks of Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, aka Pacman, among those who will watch the Pambansang Kamao’s battle with David Diaz at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada! And I kid you not! Cris Aquino is one of Manny Pacquiao’s most ardent supporters and is the perennial flag-bearer of the Filipino boxer, considered as the best puncher in the world today regardless of weight.
"Manny Pacquiao will be everywhere at Mandalay Bay on fight night," said Cris Aquino. A total of 10,000 pieces of the mask will be brought to the US by several of Manny Pacquiao’s friends who are flying to Los Angeles beginning this coming week. The masks will be worn like when people attend a masquerade ball.
Cris Aquino, who shells out his own money in providing select members of Team Pacquiao with jackets, shirts, and other boxing stuff whenever the 29-year-old southpaw revs up for a high-profile bout in the United States, plans to distribute the masks on June 25, 2008, when a press conference is held at Mandalay Bay.
Cris Aquino began supporting Manny Pacquiao in November 2003 when the Filipino boxer slugged it out with Marco Antonio Barrera at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, when the boxer’s entourage only included men with specific roles to play. Since then, the only time Aquino missed a Manny Pacquiao fight in the US was during the showdown with Hector Velazquez of Mexico in September 2005 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Cris Aquino owns a luxurious resort – the Boracay Westcove –where Pacquiao regularly chills out after a bout.
