Manny Pacquiao beat Juan Manuel Marquez by a split decision in March 2008 to take the WBC Super Featherweight title. This was the Filipino boxer’s seventh consecutive victory – all in the last three years! In that sequence, Manny beat Mexican boxers Marco Antonio Barrera, Jorge Solis, two victories against Erik Morales, Oscar Larios, and Hector Velazquez.
David Diaz beat Erik Morales to win the WBC Lightweight title in August 2007, which led to Morales’ retirement from boxing. And here’s something very interesting, everyone – David Diaz has not lost in his last nine bouts, winning eight and drawing with Ramazan Palyani in December 2005! Impressive! Since losing to Kendall Holt in February 2005, Dangerous David Diaz went on to beat Tyrone Wiggins, John Trigg, Juan Polo Perez, Silverio Ortiz, Cristian Favela, Jose Armando Santa Cruz, Morales, Ramon Montano, and then the draw against Palyani.
