Savings Accounts & Savings Services at WaMu!

WaMu Savings Accounts GraphicI was online searching the Internet for savings accounts sites and all when I received a number of emails and phone calls concerning the 7.8 earthquake that hit China just now. I briefly stopped my search and made a brief post on the earthquake in China. I then got back to my search on savings accounts and found WaMu, which markets its savings account or certificate of deposit (CD) to realize one’s savings goals. For those searching for savings accounts and other related services, do check at WaMu! It could be an interesting find! And I kid you not!

What makes WaMu stand out from other banks and its competitors is the way it presents itself. WaMu touts itself as informal, friendly and fun – taking their customers’ money seriously but not themselves. WaMu also believes that no one else or no other bank comes close with regards to how it focuses on consumers, small business and commercial customers like it does. Based on what I could gather, WaMu talks to customers in a straightforward manner using everyday language – thus, no bank talk at all!

Some of WaMu’s services include savings accounts, checking accounts, money market accounts, credit cards, CDs and CRAs, home loans and mortgages, and home equity loans and lines. A hint of some of WaMu’s accomplishments include the following: pioneered the first home loan in 1890; started the first shared ATM network in the 1970s; offered full-service brokerage and mutual funds through our stores in the 1980s, and was the first bank to do so; developed a new retail store design in the late 1990s, the first full-service branch design to be issued a U.S. patent; introduced the new WaMu Free Checking account in 2006, which offers a whole new level of free services; completed the first covered bond issuance by a U.S. Bank in Europe; and more!
