Francisco Bustamante Wins Villar Cup - Panagbenga Leg!

Congratulations to Filipino pool player Francisco “Django” Bustamante for winning the Villar Cup – Panagbenga Leg! Francisco Bustamante won the inaugural stop of the coveted Villar Cup 2009 with a 10-7 victory against Roberto “Superman” Gomez at the SM Baguio Events Center in Baguio City.

Django Bustamante, who plays for Puyat Sports, had a strong start in the semifinals for an impressive finish (10-8) against Rene Mar David. It was David who eliminated The Magician, Efren Bata Reyes, in the second round. Meanwhile, Roberto Gomez of Bugsy Promotions was three racks down when he stopped Warren Kiamco in the semis! And I kid you not!

Francisco “Django” Bustamante, one of the in-house pros of the Makati Pool Players Association, received Php300,000 for his impressive performance.
