Carlito "Vice" de Castro Wins His 4th Championship in The Coach's Tour!
Congratulations to my very good friend, Carlito de Castro, aka Vice, for winning The Coach's 2007 OctoberFest 9-Ball Tournament! The tour was held at the AMF-Puyat Superbowl, Makati Cinema Square, Makati City. Based on my friends' accounts, the finals match was filled with intensity and excitement! I wasn't able to watch the competition because of work engagements.
The tour, which started at 2:00 PM, ended in the wee hours of the morning and had to be continued at the Efren's Magic billiard hall in Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati City, because of time constraints. According to Philippine Coach Boyet Asonto, the brain behind the tour, Vice requested for a reschedule of the finals match because of the lateness of the hour, i.e., 1:30 AM. However, fellow finalist Noel Pantilanan wouldn't have none of it. Thus, the group transferred to Efren's Magic to hold the finals. And history was made again! Vice bagged the championship and the Php15,000 cash prize with a very convincing score - 7-3! The win is Lito's fourth championship in the Philippine Coach's tour, making him the winningest player in the series! Now, THAT IS impressive! And I kid you not!
Vice is one of forces behind Tullett Prebon, the world's second largest Inter-dealer broker and is the world's leader in many products. Carlito de Castro is the Financial Controller of Tullett Prebon Philippines Inc. He is also the President of the Makati Pool Players Association. If you think Lito is very good in pool, wait till you see what he can do with numbers. HE IS THAT GOOD!

Pictured above is Philippine Coach Boyet Asonto with my friend, Noel Pantilanan, aka Noel Cue Tip, who placed 1st Runner-Up in The Coach's 2007 OctoberFest 9-Ball Tournament. Not only does Noel play Class O pool, but he is the go-to-guy for all pool cue-related concerns. He is the top choice when it comes to replacing one's cue tip.
Some of his notable customers include Francisco Django Bustamante, Rodolfo Luat aka Boy Samson, Leonardo Dodong Andam aka The Rattlesnake, and The AnitoKid aka The Champ. Congratulations buddy!
