For billiards buddies who may have missed it, here are pictures of the very beautiful Shanelle Loraine with Jeanette Lee and Veronika Hubrtova from the 2009 Women’s World 10 Ball Championship!

The 2009 Women’s World 10 Ball Championship, which was held at the SM North Edsa in Quezon City, was 5 days of hard fought play featuring 48 women from all over the world! And it was won by none other than the Pool Capital of the World’s #1 female pool player, my good friend, Rubilen “Bingkay” Amit! And I kid you not!

Much thanks for looking, everyone! More pictures at Larawan Photography!

Efren Bata Reyes on The Probe: A Cheche Lazaro Interview!

Billiards buddies and pool players, here are pictures from Cheche Lazaro’s interview of Efren Bata Reyes, aka The Magician!

The interview was conducted at the AMF-Puyat Superbowl at the Makati Cinema Square in Makati City. It highlights Efren Bata Reyes’ career, including his childhood, money game matches, local and international wins, rise from poverty to becoming a local hero, his reputation as the “god of pool”, and more!

For those not in the know, Cheche Lazaro of The Probe television program is a Filipino broadcast journalist and the Founding President of Probe Productions Inc. A pillar of broadcast journalism in the Pool Capital of the World, I remember watching her, Howie Severino and Luchi Cruz-Valdez, when they were still together in the television program The Probe Team on GMA-7.

Cheche Lazaro’s unique way of asking questions, coupled with her intense desire to know more about Efren Reyes and what makes him tick, makes this interview a rare treat for anyone who wants to know more about the greatest pool player to ever wield a pool cue. And I guarantee that everyone who will watch this episode will be glued to their seats from start to finish as they listen to Efren's witty remarks and quotes! And I kid you not!

Lest I forget, the episode will also highlight a one pocket match between Efren Reyes and my good friend, Jeffrey Elliott aka Anting-anting Jeff/Masirib5, of Cool, California. Jeff was on a 6-day vacation in the Pool Capital of the World when the interview was taped and all!

Efren Reyes, Jeffrey Elliott & Rodolfo Luat

Hey Jeff! I know I said it before, but please allow me to say it again: Lucky you, kapatid!

The interview will be telecast on the July 22, 2009 episode of The Probe on ABS-CBN. It will also be televised on cable TV via The Filipino Channel (TFC).

Larawan Photography: We Tell the Story!

Billiards buddies and pool players, we have just started with a new blog – Larawan Photography! As every one knows, I and one of my good friends, Jason Calubaquib, have been very busy with photography since February 2009. Larawan Photography aims to showcase some of our favorite shots and chronicle the fun we had taking 'em.

I sincerely believe that the blog is the perfect way for Larawan Photography to share with everyone some of our unforgettable shoots! After all, we don’t just take pictures. We preserve memories. And yes! We do tell the story. No more. No less.

The first post highlights some of our favorite shots taken from our first paid gig – the Christening of Sasha Castro Dy, at the Sanctuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, Makati City, on May 24, 2009. Sasha is the granddaughter of former Isabela Governor Faustino Dy, Jr.

Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we did shooting 'em!
