Efren Bata Reyes on The Probe: A Cheche Lazaro Interview!
Billiards buddies and pool players, here are pictures from Cheche Lazaro’s interview of Efren Bata Reyes, aka The Magician!
The interview was conducted at the AMF-Puyat Superbowl at the Makati Cinema Square in Makati City. It highlights Efren Bata Reyes’ career, including his childhood, money game matches, local and international wins, rise from poverty to becoming a local hero, his reputation as the “god of pool”, and more!
For those not in the know, Cheche Lazaro of The Probe television program is a Filipino broadcast journalist and the Founding President of Probe Productions Inc. A pillar of broadcast journalism in the Pool Capital of the World, I remember watching her, Howie Severino and Luchi Cruz-Valdez, when they were still together in the television program The Probe Team on GMA-7.
Cheche Lazaro’s unique way of asking questions, coupled with her intense desire to know more about Efren Reyes and what makes him tick, makes this interview a rare treat for anyone who wants to know more about the greatest pool player to ever wield a pool cue.
