World 10-Ball Championship 2011 Live in Manila!

World 10-Ball Championship GraphicBilliards buddies and pool players, guess what? The Pool Capital of the World will host both the 2011 Philippine National Open Pool Championships and the 2011 World Ten-Ball Championship (WTBC) in succession! And I kid you not!

Organized by Raya Sports, the 2-month-long sportsfest will kick off on April 16-20, 2010, for men and women. This will be followed by the 3rd World Ten-Ball Championship of the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) from May 9-15, 2010, which is anticipated to bring over 200 top players and hundreds of billiards officials and enthusiasts from the world over.

The championship will be held at the main hall of the World Trade Center in Pasay City, while the qualifying rounds will be hosted by Star Billiards Center at #46 Joy Street, Grace Village, Quezon City.

For those not in the know, Mika Immonen, aka The Iceman, will be defending his World Ten-Ball Championship title. Lee Vann Corteza, aka The Slayer, is the defending champion of the Philippine National Open Pool Championships. Corteza hails from the Negros Billiards Stable and JSY Sports.

The best of luck to everyone!
