Ricky Zerna Wins Knightshot Champions 9-Ball Challenge!
Ricky Zerna, who hails from the Negros Billiard Stable of Mr. Jonathan Sy, won the finals with a stunning 11-3 victory over 2006 World Pool 9-Ball and 2007 World 8-Ball champion Ronnie Alcano, aka The Volcano! And I kid you not!
Other pool players beaten by Ricky Zerna include Jarry Pelayo of NBS (12-10) and former Asian Games gold medalist Gandy Valle of Bugsy Promotions (11-6).
The 25-year-old Filipino pool player’s campaign in the 2008 Knightshot Champions 9-Ball Challenge was also supported by the Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP) and Senate President Manny Villar under his Villards: Tulong sa Pagsulong ng Philippine Sports program.
