Jasmin Ouschan Wins 2010 Yalin Women's World 10-Ball Championship!
Austria’s Jasmin Ouschan finally quenched her thirst for a first-ever world title by ruling the 2010 Yalin Women’s World 10-Ball Championship in a come-from-behind 10-6 win over South Korea’s Ga Young Kim at Robinson’s Galeria!
Jasmin Ouschan initially trailed Ga Young Kim during the championship, 0-4. However, the cue artist from Klagenfurt, who skipped the 2010 US Open Championship to prepare for the event, won the next seven racks to take control, 7-4, on the way to posting the biggest win of her young career!
Truth be told, I will never the words Jasmin uttered when she won! Fighting off the tears, Ouschan said, “WOOOO! I can’t believe that this is happening! I’ve been waiting for so long to get this! It’s special because I’m playing in the billiards capital of the world!”
For those not in the know, the 2005 World Games gold medalist went unbeaten in the prestigious tournament - winning five matches in the group stages! And I kid you not! Jasmin then nipped Miyuki Fuke, Karen Corr, and Kelly Fisher to reach the finals.
Jasmin Ouschan was awarded the gold WPBA medal, a trophy, and the winner’s check of $20,000.
