Efren Bata Reyes Joins The Manny Villar Cup!

Filipino pool player Efren Bata Reyes, aka The Magician, will take a break from his very busy schedule in the United States to compete in the Top Guns Challenge of the first Senate President Manny Villar Cup Billiards Tournament from May 6 to 10, 2008, at the Sports Center of Star Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Efren Bata Reyes, who is also the vice president of the Billiard Managers and Professional Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP), will mix it up with 23 other top Filipino billiards players for the Manny Villar Cup title and the Php400,000 top prize! Now, that’s a ton of money in my book! Joining the beloved billiards icon in the event are 2006 World Pool Champion Ronnie Alcano, current world No. 1 Dennis Orcollo, 2007 World Pool Championship runner-up Roberto Gomez, former Asian Games gold medalist Gandy Valle, reigning national titlist Lee Van Corteza, and veteran players Warren Kiamco, Rodolfo Luat, Ramil Gallego, Eduardo Villanueva and Roel Esquillo.

The Hall-of-Famer has his schedule full for May 2008! And I kid you not! Aside from doing the Predator Pro Pool School with Francisco Django Bustamante, Thorsten Hohmann, and Tony Robles on May 21-22. Efren Bata Reyes is also slated to compete in the 8th Annual Predator International 10-Ball Championship on May 12 to 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
