Unfinished Business: Pacquiao vs. Marquez II
I just read an interesting article about the prediction of Top Rank’s Bob Arum on the upcoming fight between Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, aka The Pacman, and Juan Manuel Marquez. Bob Arum predicts Pacman by KO in the 8th – same as my prediction!
Bob Arum, who watched Manny Pacquiao train at the Wild Card Gym, feels that the 34-year-old Juan Manuel Marquez will put up the greatest fight of his career. However, Arum doesn’t believe that Marquez can match up with the 29-year-old Manny Pacquiao. Bob Arum did highlight the fact that Juan Marquez is one of the best counter-punchers in the business, and will do his thing against Pacquiao, who is arguably the most aggressive and the hardest puncher on the planet today.
Possible highlights of the much-anticipated boxing bout include Manny Pacquiao looking for the opening and exploiting such with either hand. When the Pacman fought Marquez the first time he was a one-handed boxer – fighting with his left hand only. Now, Manny Pacquiao fights with both hands.
Everyone knows that if and when Manny Pacquiao beat Marquez, the Pacman is lined up for another title shot - against WBC lightweight champion David Diaz – and more! Indeed, these are exciting times for boxing! And I kid you not!
