YouTube Video on Django Bustamante and Daryl Peach's Controversial Rack!

Here is the YouTube video on the controversial rack between Filipino billiards master Francisco Bustamante, aka Django, and Great Britain's Daryl Peach, aka The Dazzler. The Quarter Finals match of the 2007 World Pool Championship took place at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. What are your thoughts? What are your views? Foul or not? You decide!

It was quite close but it shouldn't be considered controversial, as some sports media would put it, sensationalize it maybe. On the third replay, I personally made my own decision that the motherball hit the nine ball first before the other ball.
Well, the Dazzler won the big kahuna so it's inconsequential.
Great game though. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

Hi Trublue:

I don't think there has ever been such a match with much excitement and drama as that generated from the quarter finals match between the Dazzler and Django. What if it had happened in the finals? I wouldn't want to be in the referee's shoes if so!

What the fans also remembered that day was Django Bustamante's sportsmanship and all. And on the next day, Daryl made history by becoming the first Englishman to win the World Pool Championship.

Winning is something, having class is everything. Because Django is a Filipino, the controversy issue is given. It is rare for Filipinos accept defeat. Instead we try to give several excuses (like the gloves, etc.) Why not emulate Django for his sportsmanship? There are no trophies for being such, but class is shinier that gold.

@Penniless Fat Guy:
You got that right, Sam! You should have seen them play that day! When he contested Rees' decision, it was also his right to do so. And when he accepted the call, that was that! No more, no less. Django's a very good example of the true meaning of class. And I kid you not!

Napanuod ko yan ng live and based from the slow motion replays Django made a foul shot. Sayang talaga pero we should be sport and accept the outcome of the game.

@Kegler

Hey bro! I was also there! Sayang, di tayo nagkita! Yeah, sport naman tayo, Django accepted the decision with finality and all. That elusive championship could be his next time....

It is certainly a difficult call.

I think that we should focus more on the attitude that was displayed, rather than what could, or should have bee.

It was certainly a great match, irregardless of which player you support.
